  WTP Online Event - "Image Competition FAQs" with Cris Duncan

  In the world of Image Competition there are two truths. One, it is always changing and two is that regardless of the process, it will make you a better photographer. In this virtual meeting, Cris will go over what you need to know for the WTP image competition as well as the  PPA MIR and Degree Program. There will even be some time to discuss the dos and don'ts of entering images and how to get the most out of your competition journey.
  
  

  Cris Duncan, along with his wife, Deanna, own and operate C j Duncan Photography in Lubbock, Texas. They have had the honor of photographing everything from weddings to families to corporate clients and even two Presidents. For 20 years,  the Duncans have been published in numerous national magazines and acquired many industry accolades including several GIA (Grand Imaging Award)category awards.  However, what means the most is their daughter, family and the life they lead working together in the art form they love.  The Duncans can be found educating creatives at events across North America. They are the founders of Find Your Focus Education and host an annual retreat for photographers. Cris is a Master Photographer, Master Artist, a Photographic Craftsman and a Certified Professional Photographer. In addition, Cris is a regular instructor at Imaging USA, Texas School of Professional Photography, The PPA Judges Workshop, a PPA Juror, PPA Board Member and is an approved Certification Instructor.

  West Texas Photographers is hosting a one-day KIDS PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP on Saturday, June 15 for kids ages 9-16.  It will be held at the Ranching Heritage Center at 3121 4th street in Lubbock, from 9:30 AM – 3 PM.

  Learn from the pros!  Campers will spend the day rotating through skill specific stations, playing games, PRINTING their work and experiencing showing their work at the August First Friday Art Trail (optional).  Lunch and snacks will be provided.  

  Below is a registration link. Space is VERY limited.  Sign up today and forward this to a friend so they don't miss out.

  Camper registration is $35 for students ages 9-16. The Camper + Friend bundle is $70 if an adult (18+) would like to attend as well.  They will be in the same group as their student.   They get ALL the perks including lunch, snacks, printing and display of their work if desired.

  Campers need to provide their own cameras.  A digital camera with removable storage media (SD card) or iPhone is preferred.  If the camper does not have a camera, please let us know so we can find a solution.

  Shannon is a nationally recognized award - winning photographer based in Colorado Springs. In 2019 Shannon won her first 1st place GIA in the Children ’ s category and went on to win another two more, before winning the overall GIA in 2020. In addition to her GIA wins, Shannon has also been a part of Team U.S.A. in 2022 and 2023 with two images on the team each year. Shannon started photography in high school with film photography before attending Art school in Seattle where she earned her Associates degree in Commercial Photography. Shannon also has her Master photographer degree, Master Artist degree, Cpp, Craftsmen degree, and Image excellence, through Professional Photographers of America.
